Japan’s Free and Open Indo-Pacific Vision: Balancing accommodation and security

This panel will discuss the different dimensions of Japan’s FOIP vision in the context of Japan’s attempts to mitigate the security challenges emerging in the region and its need to foster deeper and broader rules-based economic, institutional and political integration in the region. The discussion will include maritime security cooperation, infrastructure and connectivity, trade and institution building.
